Description

Diplomacy and sportsmanship. In this game, players will learn the importance of fair play and diplomatic problem-solving.

Players will simulate a football match, taking turns as referees. When a foul is suspected, a "trial" will be held, where players must debate the incident and reach a consensus.

  1. Team Division: Divide players into two teams.

  2. Referee Rotation: Players take turns acting as the referee.

  3. Simulated Match: Players engage in a simulated football match, following basic rules.

  4. Foul and Trial:

    • The referee calls a foul if they believe a rule has been broken.

    • A "trial" is held, where players discuss the incident and vote on whether a foul occurred.

    • Players must use diplomatic language and persuasive arguments to convince others of their viewpoint.

More Play

  • To add complexity, players can be assigned secret roles, such as "troublemakers" who are instructed to break the rules.

This will test the referee's ability to identify and address misconduct.

  • Area: A large enough area to accommodate a simulated football match.

Players: Ideal Number would be 8-12. Minimum: 6 players.

    Materials: Balls, bibs.

Create Game Situations

Encourage creativity:

Invite players to suggest unique game scenarios and modifications.

Goal-based challenges: Introduce different goals for each team, such as scoring a certain number of goals or completing specific challenges.

Integrating Global Goals:

Goal-based rewards: Implement a system where teams can earn bonus points by stating a Global Goal and how they plan to promote it in their community.

Water break discussions: Use water breaks as opportunities for players to discuss and share their ideas for promoting the Global Goals.

Small-sided games: Encourage players to form smaller teams for easier communication and engagement.

Additional Tips:

Variety is key: Offer a variety of game formats and challenges to keep players engaged.

Flexibility: Be adaptable and willing to adjust the game based on player feedback and preferences.

Community involvement: Encourage players to involve their communities in the game and the Global Goals initiative.
