by Coaches Across Continents
Description
Think of different rights that women and girls should have.
Label the cones with these rights.
Two players from different teams will run to the center of the circle.
Once they reach the center, they'll do a handshake (or a fun dance move!)
The coach will call out a right, and the players will race to the corresponding cone.
Then, two new players will take their place in the center.
More play
-
Two teams line up across a space.
4-5 cones af spread out.
-
You can start with 2 (or more) players from each team running into the middle instead of only one. Can call out more than one right and the players have to touch the cones in that order. After some time come up with different rights.
You can also play where each player has a number. The coach then calls out a number and a right. The coach can then call out more than one number.
You can also add a ball. Players dribble around with a ball and control it as they race to the cones.
-
Why did you choose those particular women’s rights?
Where do they come from? Are they supported by the rule of law in your country? What about in other countries? Are those rights always respected in your community?
What about in others? What are obstacles that interfere with girls’ and women’s rights?
Create Game Situations
Encourage creativity:
Invite players to suggest unique game scenarios and modifications.
Goal-based challenges: Introduce different goals for each team, such as scoring a certain number of goals or completing specific challenges.
Integrating Global Goals:
Goal-based rewards: Implement a system where teams can earn bonus points by stating a Global Goal and how they plan to promote it in their community.
Water break discussions: Use water breaks as opportunities for players to discuss and share their ideas for promoting the Global Goals.
Small-sided games: Encourage players to form smaller teams for easier communication and engagement.
Additional Tips:
Variety is key: Offer a variety of game formats and challenges to keep players engaged.
Flexibility: Be adaptable and willing to adjust the game based on player feedback and preferences.
Community involvement: Encourage players to involve their communities in the game and the Global Goals initiative.
